#10 The Evidence of Things Not Seen by James Baldwin

If you’ve recently watched season 2 of Netflix’s Mindhunter, you would have heard of the Atlanta Child Murders of 1979 to 1981 and how little of it was made known to the public.
Over the period of 2 years, up to 28 dead bodies of young black Atlanta boys started showing up all around the city. Despite having more than 100 federal agents working on the case, the alleged murderer – Wayne Bertram William was only successfully convicted for murders of 2 adults. The case remains unsolved to this day.
Well, this is James Baldwin’s personal account on it. Never one to avoid intricacies of racial, sexual and societal topics, James Baldwin is one of America’s foremost writers. This crime novel unfortunately, was his last published work before he passed.
He had attended Williams’s trial and spoke to principal sources involved in the case. While this is a not a reportage on the case against Williams, he combines exclusive insights into the case, with deep and familiar terrors of his own Harlem childhood.
